ORIGINS
A Village in Haiti, 1965
Jean Maxeau Boursiquot was born in November 1965 in La Vallee, a small village in Haiti.
He arrived prematurely and began having seizures. He was given up for dead and very nearly buried.
That was the first of the narrow escapes. Another came with a head injury that carried an extreme risk of infection, in a place with almost no medical help to offer.

YOUTH
Growing Up
By his own account, he was not a good child. Whiny, difficult, and disobedient, he harassed animals, terrorized children who dared not retaliate, and vandalized his neighbors’ property. As he grew older, he became worse.
As a brash teenager he ran afoul of the brutal police of Baby Doc. He survived that too.

IMMIGRATION
Coming to America, 1985
Maxeau emigrated from Haiti in 1985, at twenty, and became a permanent resident of the United States.
The years that followed took him from New York City to Miami, where driving a taxi ended in a near-death encounter with organized crime, and on to Las Vegas.

TRANSFORMATION
Meeting the Lord
Four years after emigrating, Maxeau met the Lord and surrendered his life to God.
The road led him back to New York City, where he found the church and was baptized upon the confession of his faith.
The Lord led Maxeau through difficult experiences and gave him a church home and a Christian wife.

Work and Service
Educated in both Haiti and the United States, Jean Maxeau Boursiquot has had an extensive working life. He is a tax accountant and an author.
He is passionate about the plight of the people of Haiti. He is one of the founding members of Christian Financial Aid Haiti (CFAH), where he serves as Board Member, Communications Director. CFAH provides zero-interest micro-loans and humanitarian support to small farmers and entrepreneurs in Haiti.

PRESENT LIFE & PURPOSE
Home
Today Maxeau lives in the quiet town of Belleville, Pennsylvania, with his wife Martha and their four children.
His purpose in writing was not to talk about himself. It was to lift up the Lord and His mercy, compassion, and love. His greatest desire for the book is that it will point the reader to the Lord, and that the reader will see that what God did for Maxeau, He wants to do for them.
