But the Lord loved this wild crazy child who was hurting people.
The Lord had a plan for Maxeau.

About the Book
Maxeau’s life has been a series of narrow escapes: from his premature birth in a poor Haitian village, to his days as a brash teenager running afoul of Baby Doc’s brutal police, to his time as a taxi driver ensnared by the Miami mafia. Through it all, God had a plan.
This is Maxeau’s story. His childhood in Haiti. Coming to New York City. A near-death encounter with organized crime in Miami. Drifting in Las Vegas. And finally back to New York City, where he found the church and was baptized upon the confession of his faith.
Several story lines run through the book at once: an immigrant adjusting to life in a strange country, looking for a way to earn a decent living, searching for God, and wanting a wife and a home of his own. Such stories have been told many times. What makes this one come alive is Maxeau’s raw honesty about his confused aspirations, his mistakes, disappointments, fears, and despair.
This is not an average book. It makes an excellent gift for any youth or adult.
